US:Alicia Keys support for the Niqab got so shot down.

(US) When she isn't singing songs, US pop star Alicia Keys is a philanthropist and human rights activist. On the day after Donald Trump's 2017 inauguration, Keys protested during the Women's March on Washington. She was one of the key speakers, and she spoke to the crowd and said:

"We will not allow our bodies to be owned and controlled by men in government - or men anywhere, for that matter, we want the best for all Americans. No hate, no bigotry, no Muslim registry. We value education, health care, equality."

In line with that woman’s equality angle she tweeted this now deleted tweet the other day.

One Islamic Woman wasn't happy with and replied back with a number of tweets which saw the above tweet deleted.

Myself as an Apostate from Islam simply cannot understand how so many do-gooders subscribe to this notion that 'Islam' is a peaceful religion and affords equality to women. It doesn't and if anybody wants to prove me wrong, please point me in the direction of any Islamic country in the world which does.

(ISW) The Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) slowed its offensive in central Mosul on March 26 out of concern for the estimated 400,000 civilians remaining in the Old City. ISF continues operations in the outer neighbourhoods, but has largely paused the offensive into the Old City. Local sources claimed that a Coalition airstrike on March 17 killed as many as 200 civilians in the adjacent New Mosul neighbourhood. The Coalition confirmed that it conducted a strike in the area on March 17, however the strike may have set off ISIS VBIEDs or rigged houses near the strike, which caused the bulk of casualties. U.S. officials insisted that the Trump Administration has not loosened the rules of engagement for airstrikes. The Obama Administration in December 2016 had allowed Coalition advisors on the ground to directly call in airstrikes in order to improve precision. International human rights groups have criticized the Coalition for not making sufficient effort to prevent civilian casualties, however. A UN official stated that at least 307 civilians have died in western Mosul so far, the majority in the March 17 airstrike. ISIS is deliberately complicating the Coalition’s ability to conduct airstrikes by using the civilian population as human shields.

ISF is opening a second front to isolate the Old City, rather than working through it, in order to maintain pressure on ISIS and avoid civilian casualties. Units are advancing along the Old City’s western edge towards the Great Mosque, which they will likely seek to retake before turning inward. The ISF could also increase pressure on ISIS by positioning the 9th IA Division, which completed the recapture of Badush Sub-District on March 26, to breach Mosul from the northwest.

U.S. officials announced on March 27th the deployment of 240 additional troops from the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, likely in order to accelerate the defeat of ISIS in Mosul. The troops are most likely already in place. This deployment is not a response to the March 17 airstrike, as the force is tasked with force protection and IED clearance, but it could still further enable airstrike precision. Iraqi political backlash against the March 17 airstrike could slow or constrain Coalition efforts, however. Sunni political leader Osama al-Nujaifi called for an “immediate end” to airstrikes in Mosul on March 24. A reduction in Coalition airpower in Mosul would increase the risk to ISF and U.S. forces by making them more vulnerable to ISIS tactics such as SVBIEDs.

Meanwhile, Iranian proxies in the Ministry of Interior and the Badr Organization have increased Iran’s influence in the Mosul operation.

The ISF’s official media outlet listed the 2nd Badr Brigade’s operations together with the 9th IA Division northeast of Mosul city on March 22, suggesting a growing interoperability between the Popular Mobilization and the Iraqi Army. Coalition advisors are currently supporting the 9th IA Division. The Popular Mobilization entered Mosul’s city limits as part of a humanitarian campaign which it launched on March 14. Aid convoys entered recaptured western neighbourhoods soon after, bearing the flags of the Badr Organization and Liwa Ali al-Akbar, a Hawza affiliated militia. Unidentified armed forces, likely Badr, accompanied the convoys.
The Ministry of Interior, an Iranian client, appointed Abu Dargham al-Maturi as commander of the 6th Federal Police Division, a new unit that made its operational debut at the start of the western Mosul operation on February 19. Abu Dargham is also the commander of a Badr Organization’s brigade and has used his dual role to permit entry to proxy militias into off-limit operations. His appointment to the division underscores the risk of further Iranian infiltration into the ISF and inside Mosul.

The Badr Organization will continue to expand Iranian influence in Mosul after its recapture. It is already working to establish a political presence in northern Iraq. It may also try to co-opt local tribal militias, currently acting as hold forces, as it did in Salah al-Din by financially supporting a tribal militia as part of the Popular Mobilization in early 2016. The Badr-controlled Ministry of Interior will likewise ensure that the Mosul Police Chief remains friendly to the central government and amenable to Iranian interests. The U.S. must ensure that the post-ISIS holding force in Mosul City is both controlled by the Iraqi government and responsive to its authority. The U.S. must contain and reduce Iran’s influence in Mosul. The Badr Organization’s direct presence in Mosul city and its environs places American service members at risk. Its continued presence in Mosul could also could drive sectarian tensions that ISIS or other insurgent groups could use to recruit, undermining the success of anti-ISIS operations.

Pakistan: Friday bomb blast at Mosque kills 25, injures 80.

(Parachinar) A car bomb was detonated at the woman’s entrance to a Shia mosque in Pakistan's north-western city of Parachinar this morning at around 1030 local time  as people started congregating to attend Friday prayers

The resulting blast killed at least 25 people and injured another 80 . The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) have admitted they were behind the blast, adding its goal was "to avenge the killing of our associates". The group's spokesman said it wanted to "teach a lesson to Shiites for their support for Bashar al-Assad," referring to the Syrian president. The spokesman warned that his Sunni Muslim group will continue attacking Shia Muslims if they back President Assad,

The blast comes 2 months after another attack on the town which claimed 20 lives, resulting in many people asking how could a car bomb bypass the extra security in place in a predominately Shia town on the Afghan/Pak border?

Bangladesh: Police take out Neo LMB Terrorist cell

(Sylhet)  On Friday last Bangladesh, police surrounded a Neo JMB” hideout, (Neo JMB is an offshoot of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB)) in the city of Sylhet , as it was situated in the middle of a very built up area, time was taken to move the locals from the area before they made their move.

On Friday evening they evacuated 70 people from an adjacent building and then on Saturday morning they evacuated a further 78 people. Then when they were sure the area was clear they made their move at around 14.15 local time. Unfortunately for the Police, the terrorists had planned for this day and started firing at the police and setting off explosive devices planted around the area ,resulting in 7 deaths and 40 people injured.

Realizing that these religious bigots weren't going to come quietly, the army decided to fight fire with fire and used a rocket launcher , explosives in which to neutralise the 4 holed up terrorists which included 'Musa' the head of Neo JMB who took control of the terrorist group after the police took out the hierarchy of the group after last Julys attack on Gulshan's Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka's diplomatic area killed 23 people,

(Moulvibazar) Subsequent investigations on the flat pointed the police in the direction of a couple of buildings in the nearby town of Moulvibazar ,

This time the police were taking no chances and surrounded the area after first checking for explosive devices .

When the terrorists realised, that they would be unable to lure anybody into any waiting traps  and that they were hemmed in, they decided to blow themselves up after a siege lasting 36 hours.  Police are unable to ascertain exactly how many terrorists killed themselves, but the body parts of around 8 people have been found.

Gaza: Hamas shows off its version of the SS, its so called internal security regiment.

(Gaza City)   The nice fellows of Hamas were entertained the otherday by lots of young men who had just passed out from been trained to intimidate, oppress and murder as many innocent people as possible. Ladies and gentlemen I give you Hamas’s Internal Security Force. Set up to hunt down so called potentially serious offenders: You know those who stand accused of collaboration with Israel or the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority as well as the extremist factions who dare to defy Hamas. Something like the Nazis ‘SS’ and just like the SS they wear black.

Itay: Terrorist cell arrested

(Venice) Police in Venice have swooped on a Kosovan terrorist cell comprising of 3 men and a woman. Italian authorities have had phone taps on the cell for months which revealed them celebrating last week’s terrorist attack in London, when one of the religious bigots  was heard proposing they bomb the famous Rialto bridge they moved.

You'll go straight to paradise because of all the infidels in Venice. Put a bomb on the Rialto."
Venice prosecutor Adelchi d'Ippolito said a search of a Venice apartment showed the suspects were getting in physical shape and watching videos of Islamic extremists on how to carry out knife attacks.
The police decided that they couldn't take any chances so they carried out twelve raids: 10 in Venice's historic centre, one in nearby Mestre and one in Treviso to the north. early on Thursday morning.

Yemen: Rebels use saturation missile attacks in which to try and breach Saudi Patriot anti-missile system

(Aden) I mentioned the other day how the Yemeni  Houthi rebels have started importing suicide drones from Iran in which to try and knock out the radar systems used by Saudi patriot missile system in which allow them to hit any Saudi city with a ballistic missile . Well last night (Tue 28 Mar) the Houthi tried a new tactic in launching 4 Ballistic missiles in the direction of the Saudi cities of Abha and Khamis Mushayt in an attempt to swamp the missile defence system.

Unfortunately for the rebels, the patriot missile system is more than up to the task and took them all out. (Mind you they did launch 6 missile interceptors at the incoming Ballistic missiles)

The latest attack brought the number of Yemeni ballistic missiles that the Saudis have reported to have been shot down by the RSADF since June 2015 to at least 150.

Iraq: Suicide bomber in Baghdad kills 15, injures 40.

(BAGHDAD) A suicide bomber driving a truck filled with explosives attacked a police checkpoint in southern Baghdad on Wednesday night, killing at least 15 people and wounding 45 others, Iraqi officials said. Three police officers were among the dead and several were wounded, but most of the victims were civilians.

The attack bears all the hallmarks of ISIS, who on past form have struck large population centres with VBIEDs in an attempt to lessen the pressure against them from Iraqi forces. In this case Mosul. This comes on top of a so called airstrike which killed hundreds in Mosul only for the Iraqi army to refute that claim stating that the area was struck by a large VIED in an attempt to halt attacks from the air against ISIS. Whatever the cause, the fact remains, the blood thirsty killers of ISIS get to have a breather. Enough of a breather it transpires in which to have a little fun by throwing a man off a roof because somebody said he was gay. No doubt the UN/Amnesty and the rest of the HR lot will simply say these religious bigots are misguided.

Turkey ends its military campaign inside Syria

(Ankara) Last August after a suicide bomb attack on a Kurdish wedding inside Turkey , the Turks went into action against ISIS elements based across the border in Syria and they started their wee military adventure by attacking the Kurds. The same kurds who have (And still are) the most successful people to have taken on ISIS on the Battlefield. Anyway 7 months down the line and the Turks have declared 'Mission accomplish' in regards to Operation Euphrates Shield . The strange thing is taking into account the sheer size of the Turkish military, they actually haven't done much. Here's a map of the situation on the ground and at its furthest penetration the Turks have only managed to advance around 30 miles into Syria. (The distance from Aleppo to Al Bab is around 25 miles)

Situation inside Northern Syria Feb 17:
Key: Yellow=Kurds, Green (North) = Turks.Green (West)= Rebels  Brownish/Grey=ISIS . Red= Syrian Government          Map by Mr Penguin

After spending a couple of months in which to take the city of Al Bab and not exactly advancing much more than that, the Turkish Government have now declared that they have achieved everything that they set out to do and they are calling it a day.  With the elections next month in which to grant Erdogan dictator like powers, the last thing the Turkish Government wants is Turkish military losses upsetting the apple-cart.

However whilst stating they have ended their military adventure inside Syria, the Turks haven't mentioned if they will pull out. (Highly unlikely for time been as this will allow the Kurds to link up)

Russia: Police clamp down on anti-corruption/Putin protests

(Moscow) On Sunday past, tens of thousands of people answered the call by Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and took to the streets in over 80 cities and towns across the land in which to protest at the corruption written into the DNA of Russian politics.

Locations of protests with numbers who attended
The Russian authorities denied permission for the rallies. Police arrested those who were holding posters or chanting, and also on occasion simply swept random people off the street. 1,030 people were detained in Moscow alone. About 120 remained in custody on Monday morning. The majority of those released were charged with the minor offence of taking part in an unsanctioned demonstration and are likely to be fined.

Pushkin Square ,Moscow
Navalny himself was jailed and given a 20,000-rouble (£280) fine by a Moscow court for disobeying police orders and organising the protests,

Navalny has declared his intention to run for president next year, an election in which the president, Vladimir Putin, is expected to stand for, and almost certainly win, a new six-year term.

The protests were held over an investigation into the current Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev's alleged corruption. Navalny’s team released a video alleging Medvedev had amassed a collection of mansions, yachts and vineyards - a fortune that far outstripped his official salary.

Somalia: Al Shabab Bases attacked by AU forces, over 30 Terrorists killed.

(Mogadishu)  More than 30 al-Shabab fighters were killed when African Union and Somali forces attacked two of the armed group's bases in southern Jubaland, Mohamed Ahmed Hersi, a deputy commander with the Jubaland administration, said al-Shabab weapons were also destroyed in the "surprise" attacks that began Saturday and continued Sunday near Badhadhe.

"We killed at least 33 al-Shabab militants and destroyed vehicles mounted with anti-aircraft guns," Hersi told VOA's Somali Service. "I have seen the dead bodies of the 33 militants with my eyes."

A separate statement by Kenya's Defence Force said 31 al-Shabab militants were killed during the attacks, and IEDs, 11 AK-47 rifles and 634 rounds of ammunition were seized.
"The intelligence-led operation was executed by air and ground assets. Ground troops were supported by attack helicopters and artillery fire to access the terrorists' base and the two commands and logistics bases 17 kilometers from Siraria near Hola Wajeer,"
However, al-Shabab later denied the Kenyan military's report. Sheikh Abdiaziz Abu Musab, the terrorist  spokesman for al-Shabab said that no attack was carried out on al-Shabab bases, calling the Kenyan military's claims a "fabrication".

Russia Moves to Supplant U.S. Role

(ISW)  The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) have knocked out an article which illuminates exactly what Russia is up to in the ME:

Russian President Vladimir Putin is leveraging Russia’s position in Syria to further diminish U.S. influence in the broader Middle East and North Africa. Russia will increasingly constrain U.S. freedom of maneuver in the broader region by expanding its military footprint and its anti-access and area denial zone. Putin advanced his regional strategy from February 27 to March 20, 2017 in three ways. First, he promoted economic relationships with key U.S. allies, including Egypt and Iraqi Kurds. Russia and Egypt reached tentative agreements to establish a Russian industrial zone in the Suez Gulf area and to resume Russian flights to tourist destinations in Sinai. Russia also renegotiated its oil agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government on February 28. Second, Putin cultivated ties to local security forces, particularly those he seeks to draw away from partnership with the U.S., such as the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

Russia brokered an agreement to give the Syrian regime control of villages near Manbij, Syria to deter a Turkish-backed offensive against Syrian Kurdish forces, and deployed Russian forces to train the YPG on March 20. Third, Putin took steps to further develop Russian strategic basing across the region. The deployment of Russian special forces to a base in western Egypt in early March signals Russia’s intent to expand its strategic basing along the Mediterranean Sea. Russia’s overtures to Egypt pose a particular concern as NATO conducts greater outreach to Egypt.

'International community' shrugs as Hezbollah prepares massive civilian deaths

Lebanon has made Hezbollah, whose rocket launchers are in homes and villages, part of its official army, making it responsible for civilian deaths on both sides should war erupt. Where is the UN?
(INN) Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah recently warned Israel that his Iran-backed terror group could attack targets producing mass Israeli casualties, including a huge ammonia storage tank in Haifa, and a nuclear reactor in Dimona.

Also last month, Tower Magazine reported that, since the beginning of the Syrian civil war, Iran has provided Hezbollah with a vast supply of “game-changing,” state-of-the art weapons, despite Israel’s occasional airstrikes against weapons convoys.

In a future conflict, Hezbollah has the capacity to fire 1,500 rockets into Israel each day, overwhelming Israel’s missile defense systems. Should such a scenario materialize, Israel will be forced to respond with unprecedented firepower to defend its own civilians.

Hezbollah’s advanced weapons and the systems needed to launch them reportedly are embedded across a staggering 10,000 locations in the heart of more than 200 civilian towns and villages. The Israeli military has openly warned about this Hezbollah war crime and the grave threats it poses to both sides, but that alarm generated almost no attention from the global media, the United Nations, or other international institutions.

Like the terror group Hamas, Hezbollah knows that civilian deaths at the hands of Israel are a strategic asset, because they produce diplomatic pressure to limit Israel’s military response. Hezbollah reportedly went so far as offering reduced-price housing to Shiite families who allowed the terrorist group to store rocket launchers in their homes.

But if the global media, the UN, human rights organizations, and other international institutions predictably pounce on Israel after it causes civilian casualties, why are they doing nothing to prevent them? Hezbollah’s very presence in southern Lebanon is a flagrant violation of United Nations Security Council resolution 1701, which called for the area to be a zone “free of any armed personnel, assets and weapons” other than the Lebanese military and the U.N. Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Because they often share the same goals as Hamas and Hezbollah. It's about delegitimizing and destroying the world's only Jewish state, not about Arab lives.

The UN has been atrocious about Israel for decades, but it got a whole lot worse over the 8 years that Obama gave his tacit approval of kicking Israel.
The resolution also required Hezbollah to be disarmed, but the terror group today has an arsenal that rivals that of most armies. Hezbollah possesses an estimated 140,000 missiles and rockets, and reportedly now can manufacture advanced weapons in underground factories that are impervious to aerial attack.

“Israel must stress again and again, before it happens, that these villages [storing Hezbollah weapons] have become military posts, and are therefore legitimate targets,” said Yoram Schweitzer, senior research fellow at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS).

Meir Litvak, director of Tel Aviv University’s Alliance Center for Iranian Studies, agrees, adding that global attention would “expose Hezbollah’s hypocrisy in its cynical use of civilians as… human shields.”

But even a concerted campaign to showcase Hezbollah’s war preparation is unlikely to change things, said Eyal Zisser, a senior research fellow at the Moshe Dayan Center for Middle Eastern and African Studies. Hezbollah exploits the fact that “the international community is too busy and…weak to do something about it,” Zisser said. All of “these talks and reports have no meaning. See what is happening in Syria.”

Israel has targeted Hezbollah-bound weapons caches in Syria twice during the past week. Syria responded last Friday by firing a missile carrying 200 kilograms of explosives, which Israel successfully intercepted.

If Hezbollah provokes a war, Israel can legitimately attack civilian areas storing Hezbollah arms if the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) first attempts to warn the targeted civilians to leave those areas, Litvak said. But “it will certainly be very difficult and will look bad on TV.”

While Sunni Arab states are generally united against the Shiite Iranian-Hezbollah axis, Litvak, Zisser, and Schweitzer all agreed that Israel could hope for no more than silent support from them when the missiles fly.

Indeed, the “Sunni Arab street” is likely to be inflamed by the images of civilian death and destruction caused by Israel that international media will inevitably broadcast, further limiting support for Israel from Iran’s Sunni state foes.

Rather perversely, the Lebanese government has embraced the very terrorist organization that could cause hundreds of thousands of Lebanese civilian deaths by converting residential areas into war zones. “As long as Israel occupies land and covets the natural resources of Lebanon, and as long as the Lebanese military lacks the power to stand up to Israel, [Hezbollah’s] arms are essential, in that they complement the actions of the army and do not contradict them,” President Michel Aoun told Egyptian television last month. Hezbollah, he said, “has a complementary role to the Lebanese army.”

Aoun’s declaration means that Lebanon “takes full responsibility for all of Hezbollah’s actions, including against Israel, and for their consequences to Lebanon and its entire population, even though the Lebanese government has little ability to actually control the organization’s decisions or policy,” said INSS Senior Research Fellow Assaf Orion.

MK Naftali Bennett, a veteran of Israel’s 2006 war with Hezbollah, believes that Lebanon’s official acceptance of Hezbollah and its policy of embedding military assets inside residential areas removes any prior constraints on Israeli targeting of civilian areas. “The Lebanese institutions, its infrastructure, airport, power stations, traffic junctions, Lebanese Army bases – they should all be legitimate targets if a war breaks out,” he said. “That’s what we should already be saying to them and the world now.”

In a future war, Hezbollah is certain bombard Israeli civilian communities with missile barrages. Israel, in response, will have to target missile launchers and weapons caches surrounded by Lebanese civilians.

But it need not be so. Global attention on Hezbollah’s abuses by journalists and diplomats could lead to international pressure that ultimately reduces or even prevents civilian deaths.

Those truly concerned about civilians do not have a difficult case to make. Hezbollah has shown a callous disregard for innocent life in Syria.

It helped the Syrian regime violently suppress largely peaceful protests that preceded the Syrian civil war in 2011. Last April, Hezbollah and Syrian army troops reportedly killed civilians attempting to flee the Sunni-populated town of Madaya, near the Lebanese border. In 2008, its fighters seized control of several West Beirut neighborhoods and killed innocent civilians after the Lebanese government moved to shut down Hezbollah’s telecommunication network.

Hezbollah terrorism has claimed civilian lives for decades, including a 1994 suicide bombing at Argentina’s main Jewish center that killed 85 people. As the IDF notes, “Since 1982, hundreds of innocent civilians have lost their lives and thousands more have been injured thanks to Hezbollah.”

If world powers and the international media genuinely care about avoiding civilian casualties, they should be loudly condemning Hezbollah’s ongoing efforts – in flagrant violation of a UN resolution – to cause massive civilian death and destruction in Lebanon’s next war with Israel.

Syria: Government Mil 17 makes a very lucky escape.

(Deir ez-Zor) The Syrian Army is currently embroiled in a huge bunfight just to the south of the self-proclaimed  capital of ISIS of Raqqah.  The area centred around the military airport at Deir ex-Zor has for some very strange reason managed to keep ISIS at bay during the entire civil war in Syria.

Besieged since 2015, the Syrians have begun the hard task of breaking the siege. Whilst ISIS did split the area in town this past January the Syrians have stood firm and have started to take back lost ground. One advantage that the Syrians have over the terrorists is airpower and as such air vehicles are prime targets. The video clip below shows a very lucky Mil 17 helicopter.

Yemen: Iran supplying Houthi rebels with suicide drones.

(Aden) Whilst the ethical latte crowd bemoan the West for being friends with Saudi Arabia which is supporting the Yemeni government against rebels , they conveniently omit that actually everything in the region kicked off due to the mad mullahs in Iran sticking their oar into the country in which to initiate a regime change to one which was sympathetic to  Tehran,

Anyway with the left bemoaning arms sales to SA, they still haven't managed to explain how a ragtag bunch of misfits (Houthi) managed to take control of the country (well the western half anyway) or how they have managed to get hold of advance weaponry (Scud missiles, Anti-ship missiles, remote control speed boats)  For years the Yemeni Government has accused the Iranians of shipping in weapons to the rebels, and for years the Mad mullahs have said 'Err not me governor' .

Well the latest shipment which has been intercepted (There's been loads) contained advanced suicide drones. (A UAV which loiters around and when a target is spotted it can be directed to dive down onto it) whilst the media loves to report Saudi Arabian air-strikes in Yemen, they tend not to report with the same vigour that Saudi Arabia has been under Scud missile attack from Yemen for a while, whilst a few do get through , the vast majority have been intercepted by SA Patriot missile system.
In order to bypass the Patriot System, Iran has supplied the rebels with the above suicide drone (most likely they have also supplied the operators as well) and they have started crashing these drones into the radar of the Patriot missile systems in which to ensure that their missiles get through. Which may help explain why SA used a Patriot the other week to take down a drone.  Yes something of an overkill, But if you are going to lose a multi million pound radar and then face a ballistic missile attack afterwards what else can you do.

It appears that the Iranian propaganda machine is much more effective at fighting than  the terrorists the Mad mullahs fund,  Funny enough the idiots at CND, stop the war and Amnesty International  leave out the silent partner which has been supplying the rebels with weapons.  But then I am talking about that CND which stated that Iran has a right to Nuclear power ,the same CND which invited the Iranian ambassador to talk at the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament’s Annual Conference in 2005, That Amnesty which used a former jailed terrorist as their ambassador for human rights and here are 15 things about the ISIS loving Stop the War crowd. Funny how the left whilst bemoaning the West have no problem sitting at the same table as the worse Islamic terrorists going.

Turkey to buy S-400 missile system from Russia

(Ankara)  In something of a publicity coup , the Russians have managed to get the Turkish government to purchase its S400 missile system , mind you the offer of a loan in which to do so will certainly help.

The S400 entered service in April 2007 and was deployed in combat in August 2007. A typical S-400 battalion consists of at least eight launchers with 32 missiles and a mobile command post. The system can engage all types of aerial targets, including aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and ballistic and cruise missiles within the range of 400 kilometres (249 miles), up to an altitude of 30 kilometres. The S-400 systems are capable of firing three types of missiles to create a layered defence, and can be deployed within five minutes, while simultaneously engaging 36 targets.

As a member of NATO, Turkey's procurement of the Russian S-400 system has raised concerns regarding the compatibility and integration of these weapons into the NATO. defence infrastructure. Defence Minister Fikri Işık clarified last week that Turkey will use the Russian systems without integration, stating:
''Russia's S-400 missile systems will not be integrated into the N.A.T.O. system.''
Minister Işık stated that the uncompromising attitude of N.A.T.O.-member countries compelled Turkey to purchasing Russia's S-400 missile defence system.

"We underwent negotiations to purchase N.A.T.O.-produced missile systems, but we could not get a reasonable offer in terms of price and technology transfer. Thus, our negotiations with the Russians have intensified,"
No doubt the recent revelation that Germany has refused to sell weapons to fellow NATO member Turkey helped them knock on Moscow's door.

Iraq: The battle for Mosul

Paris Match have knocked out a wee video clip regards the final push to take the city of Mosul from the demonic ISIS crowd. The video does show a couple of dead bodies one at 19 seconds which ends at 24 seconds and the other at 5.20. The clip is narrated in French and is one of the best film clips regards Mosul I have seen. Well worth a butchers.

Turkey: The slide towards dictator for life continues

(Ankara) Last month the Turkish Government approved a bill which will allow Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to run for two further terms in office, potentially allowing him to rule Turkey until 2029.  Currently the law only allows the Turkish President to only serve one five year term. He is being backed by the ruling Justice and Development party (AKP) and its nationalist allies in parliament. However the final say goes down to the people who will vote next month on the 16thApril 2017.

Since the constitutional referendum was set in motion, Erdoğan and his lackeys have set about galvanising the masses in which to get them all voting for a dictator for life. Which is why his minions have been sent across the world in which to garner the expat vote. Problems arose in Holland when the government there said no to Turkish political rallies days before the Dutch went to the ballot box last week. As we saw that didn't go down well with the Turks and so they have been publicly painting Europe as a cesspit full of Nazis and that they would set in motion Turkish protection squads to protect the faithful in Non-Islamic Europe.

It appears that identity politics is a winner inside Turkey, which explains why Erdogan said today:

"Turkey is not a country you can pull and push around, not a country whose citizens you can drag on the ground, If Europe continues this way, no European in any part of the world can walk safely on the streets. Europe will be damaged by this. We, as Turkey, call on Europe to respect human rights and democracy,"

Well it appears that Mrs Merkel isn't listening to what the Turkish pocket dictator has to say by rejecting an unusually high number of requests for arms exports to Turkey in recent months. The irony here is, the Germans are citing Human rights abuses in Turkey as the reason why

The things that pocket dictators will say and do, in which to ensure they get elected for life. Including it appears slagging off your oldest ally

England: Car driven into people outside Parliament, 4 killed, 40 injured.Attacker shot dead by police

(London) A car has been used as a weapon outside Parliament in central London on Westminster Bridge where a vehicle was driven into the cycle lane injuring at least 40 people before the vehicle was driven into the wall outside Parliament and whereupon a policeman was stabbed  before the attacker was shot and fatally wounded by police.

Pictures of the attacker emerge:

Iran: Mullahs show off their world beating 'New' Tank.

(Tehran) On Sunday 12th  March, the Iranian Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that their latest Main Battle Tank (MBT) -the Karrar -had entered full-scale production. In a statement, the Iran’s Minister of Defence Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehqan said:
“The tank can compete with the most advanced tanks in the world  It is “equipped with electro-optical fire control system, laser rangefinder, ballistic computer and enjoys the capability to fire at stable and mobile targets in day and night.”
The Iranian defence minister announced the Karrar MBT in February, stating that the Iranian Army would procure the domestically-built Karrar in lieu of importing the Russian T-90.

Domestically-built aka home grown? Here is how one such Defence expert feels about that home grown tag:

and here are those pictures in greater detail:

News from the Golan Heights: 20/03/17

Israel decided to take out a Syrian missile shipment to Hezb-allah last Thursday. Syria did launch a number of anti-aircraft missiles at the elusive IDF jets, but they all failed to hit a target.
The launching of missiles against Israeli aircraft carrying out strike operations against arms deliveries (which are intended to be used against Israel) to Hezb-allah   saw Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Liberman issue a warning to Syria that the next time, they are used, the IDF will destroy said missile sites.

A possible continuation of the above bunfight saw the IDF take out Yasser Hussein al-Sayyid (A known Hezb-allah affiliate) in a targeted airstrike as he drove from Damascus towards the Golan heights.
Yasser Hussein al-Sayyid
And all that was left of his car
The recent ramping up of tensions around the Golan heights area by the likes of Iran, Hezb-allah, and Syria with an aim to take the region by force from Israel has seen Jerusalem ensure the message is sent that they will stamp down hard on those who claim to belong to the so called religion of peace.

Libya: Moscow deploys special forces to back renegade Libyan general

(Tripoli) As is the case anywhere in the Islamic world where the dictator for life has been disposed (usually with the help of the West, in the vain hope that common sense, equality for all and peace will prevail) Total anarchy has set in This is perfectly exemplified in the country of Libya, where after Gaddafi was disposed in 2011, the country has become something of a free for all for any group which has replaced his little green book with the Koran and AK-47s. Currently there are 6 major groups uttering ‘Allah ackba’ in the Libyan version of ‘Game of Thrones.

As you can see from the image above, it's something of a free for all in Libya at the moment. The so called official government is the UN backed 'Government of National Accord (in green). However, the so called head of the Libyan armed forces Khalifa Haftar has since 2016 refused to acknowledge the UN backed government and has gone his own way taking the vast bulk of the armed forces with him. He is has been backed by the United Arab Emirates and Egypt and it has been reported that British, French, and U.S. air forces have assisted Haftar's forces in his fight against the numerous religious trigger happy groups who subscribe to the mores of ISIS, MCB and Al Q. This past week his forces have recaptured the oil ports of Es Sider and Ras Lanuf which he lost to the Benghazi Defence Brigades early on this month.

Well, it appears that Moscow, has now decided to get into bed with the strongman of Libya in which to continue to rebuild its former client base which it allowed to dissipate during the 90s in which to allow it to replace the US as the premier superpower in the Middle East region . News has now come in that Russia appears to have deployed Special Forces to an airbase in western Egypt near the border with Libya, as part of an attempt to support the Libyan Warlord, Khalifa Haftar.

With the damage done to the US presence in the region by Obama, which isn't helped by the lefts character assassination of President Trump as an Muslim hater, Moscow has jumped at the chance to rebuild bridges and capitalise on the damage done to the US. If Russia can swiftly resolve the situation inside Libya, its prestige can only rise and with that more Arabic nations will flock to Moscow.

Saudi Arabia: Pakistan deploys brigade of combat troops to secure border with Yemen

(Riyadh) When Shia Iran played its cards and actively supported the Shia Yemeni rebels which resulted in them talking half of Yemen. The Sunni Saudi government next door reacted by sending in the troops, it has been supported by numerous Gulf states. However, even with an abundance of manpower, technology, and fire-power .The rebels have been giving the Saudi coalition a hard time.

Well, it appears that Saudi Arabia has won the support of another Sunni country, with Pakistan pledging to send in a brigade of combat troops in which to shore up Saudi Arabia’s vulnerable southern border from reprisal attacks mounted by the Houthis in Yemen, the brigade will be based in the south of the Kingdom, but will only be deployed inside its border.

Whilst the Houthi rebels have made small incursions into SA and launched numerous missile attacks on populated Saudi cities, a large scale attack is beyond them. So using the Pakistani army to secure the border is something of an overkill. However, the Pak army would be the most professional army in the Saudi coalition if not the peninsula and well versed in taking the fight to rebels, they would make huge inroads into the areas occupied by the Rebels. Only time will tell.

Syria: Iran given go ahead to build Military naval base in Latakia

(Damascus) News (unconfirmed) is coming in that President Assad has been forced by Moscow to allow Iran to build a Naval base in the city of Latakia.

It is widely reported that the Syrian Government (and troops) or even the Russians have much time for Iranian forces inside their country (or even their lackeys Hezbollah). However, with Moscow looking to the wider picture, it appears they have forced Damascus to allow Iran to build a naval base inside the country in which to allow Iran to take some pressure off of the Kremlin. At a stroke, Tehran can reinforce Hezbollah safe under the umbrella of the Russians next door, they can threaten Israel (and her oil platforms) and they now have a platform in which to carry out mischief across the Med.
