Ramadan Death count: Pakistan 08/06/16

Three people were killed in different parts of Karachi on Tuesday.
A mentally-ill person killed his mother with a sharp-edged weapon in Gulshan-e-Mazdur area of Saeedabad. Unidentified persons opened fire and killed a woman and her son in Sharafi Goth area.

A woman set her daughter to fire for marrying the man of her choice on Wednesday, police said. The 18-year-old girl died on the spot. The victim Zeenat, a resident of Mast Iqbal Road, had eloped with a man she liked and who her family disapproved of. On Monday, the family coaxed the victim to come back home on the pretext that they will send her off with their consent. However, once she returned, her mother doused her with petrol and set her alight.

The Principal of Balochistan University’s Law College- Barrister Amanullah- was gunned down by unknown assailants was on his way to the workplace from his residence when unidentified gunmen opened fire at him in Kalli Tarakha area of the city.

Ramadan death toll is now at 519
