Iraq scores major victory over ISIS

(Tikrit) The plan to strike ISIS in the rear and cut off their major resupply route to their terrorists marching on Baghdad appears to have been successful, with the recapture of the city of Tikrit. Iraqi troops, secreted in by a heli drop the other night, managed to secure the university area and, using that as a forward operating base, kept the ISIS terrorists there busy while reinforcements from the city of Samarra rushed up to relieve them. The troops in Tikrit were aided by helicopter support from the Iraqi Army.

State television claims the governor's HQ has been recaptured and 60 fighters from the ISIS terrorist group killed.
