Eygpt planning to strike targets inside Gaza?

(Gaza City) With the downfall of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Egyptian military have gone full throttle in sealing off the tiny enclave of Gaza from Egypt. Where before they tended to look the otherway when it came to Gaza . That changed when the true colours of Hamas were shown when they openly attacked a military post last year killing 16 soldiers. Since the removal of their Muslim Brotherhood sponsors, attacks on security forces near the border with Gaza have risen tenfold. The Egyptians have retaliated by closing down virtually all the tunnels between the two states. (Including building a fire wall by clearing all dwellings within a kilometre of the border with Gaza.) leaving somewhat ironically 'Israel' as the only way for Gaza to be supplied with everything.

Now news has come out that the Egyptians may go even further by striking targets inside Gaza where they presume Islamic terrorists are hiding out. the Palestinian news agency Ma'an  reports:
"The Egyptian army has established a precautionary plan for military intervention in the Gaza Strip if attacks on Egyptian troops in the Sinai Peninsula intensify, Egyptian security officials said Wednesday. Officials told Ma'an that Egyptian reconnaissance planes had entered the Gaza Strip's airspace and examined a number of locations in Rafah and Khan Younis to be targeted if military attacks against Egyptian troops intensify in Sinai."

I have to admit, in light of the above I found it somewhat amusing that Hamas have stated that:
A spokesman for Hamas says that while the terror group is trying to avoid a confrontation with Israel, Hamas resistance' to Israel was in a better condition than ever before in Gaza, and that the group was ready for a confrontation if one is needed.

Yeah right.
